The DPC office was located at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York from 1970-1990 during Dick March's tenure. The office was moved to Syracuse, New York from November 1991 through December 1994 during Gil Porter's term. Don George moved the office to Barre, Vermont, from January 1995 until December 1997. When Terry Musson became Executive Vice President in January 1998, the office was moved to the location it remains at currently, in Keyport, New Jersey.
The Council holds a three day conference each fall to allow all Task Forces to meet simultaneously and to provide a forum where topics of common interest can be shared with the membership and other attendees.
The first Annual Conference was held November 1970 in Newburg, NY; the second in Stroudsburg, PA; the third in Chicopee, MA. From 1973-1991 the Annual Conferences were held at the Fallsview Hotel in Ellenville, NY.
Conferences were held in Syracuse, NY, during Gil Porter's tenure. In the mid 1990's the Executive Board voted to begin to move the Annual Conference out of the Northeast. The decision was based on consideration of our expanding base of state members from further west. It was decided a move to Pennsylvania would be acceptable to the original northeast member states.
The Annual Conference of 1997, 1998, and 2001 were in Harrisburg, PA; the 1999 and 2003 Conferences were held in Scranton, PA; the 2000 Conference was held in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2002 the Conference was returned to Syracuse, NY.
